Blocklist
Overview
The blocklist feature helps you maintain a list of prospects that should not be contacted through sequences. When a prospect is on your blocklist, they cannot be added to any sequence, either manually or through CSV imports.
Use Cases
- Prevent contacting prospects who have unsubscribed or requested not to be contacted
- Exclude competitors or specific companies from outreach
- Maintain compliance with do-not-contact requests
- Avoid duplicate outreach to prospects who have already declined
Managing the Blocklist
Adding Prospects to Blocklist
There are two ways to add prospects to your blocklist:
-
CSV Upload
- Click the “Upload CSV” button in the Blocklist settings
- Select your CSV file containing prospect information
- Map the CSV columns to the corresponding fields:
- Required: Email
- Optional: First Name, Last Name, Company, LinkedIn URL
- Review the preview to ensure correct mapping
- Click “Upload” to process the file
Viewing Blocked Prospects
The blocklist interface shows:
- Prospect name
- Email address
- Company
- Date when they were added to the blocklist
- Total count of blocked prospects
You can search blocked prospects using the search bar, which looks through names, emails, and company names.
CSV Upload History
Below the blocked prospects list, you can view:
- History of all CSV uploads
- Status of each upload (Processing/Completed/Failed)
- Number of successfully processed rows
- Number of failed rows
Removing Prospects from Blocklist
Team admins and owners can remove prospects from the blocklist by:
- Finding the prospect in the blocklist
- Clicking the delete icon
- Confirming the removal
Important Notes
- Once a prospect is blocklisted, they cannot be added to any sequence until removed from the blocklist
- Blocklist is team-wide - all team members share the same blocklist
- Only team admins and owners can upload CSVs or remove prospects from the blocklist
- At least one identifier (email, LinkedIn URL, or full name + company) is required to blocklist a prospect
Best Practices
- Regularly review and update your blocklist
- Use consistent naming and formatting in your CSV files
- Verify CSV mappings before uploading large files
