What happens when someone replies to your messages on LinkedIn?

When a prospect replies to your automated LinkedIn outreach, Vaam pauses the sequence and adds a manual task. Review the reply, then choose whether to continue or end the sequence.

Review a reply

1. Go to your task list. You will see the number of manual tasks that require your attention.

2. Click “Review” to assess the prospect’s response.

3. Read the AI Analysis. It shows a recommendation. Open the info icon to see the explanation and confidence.

4. Choose one of the two buttons:

   • Continue sequence keeps the automation running. Use it when the reply is not a real signal of interest, such as an out-of-office message. The sequence continues with its next step.
   • End sequence stops the automation. Use it when the prospect is interested or when the sequence has nothing more to do. You then take over the conversation yourself.

The recommendation tells you which button Vaam suggests:

• Continue sequence automation suggests Continue sequence.
• Complete sequence (no further action needed) suggests End sequence.
• Complete the sequence and follow up personally suggests End sequence, and asks you to answer the prospect yourself.

When the AI judges that the reply needs a person, it also shows a Suggested Next Message. This is a draft for you to read. Vaam never sends it. Use the copy button beside the draft, then paste the text into LinkedIn and edit it before you send.

[!NOTE] No further action will be taken in the sequence until you choose Continue sequence or End sequence.

When you reply yourself

If you reply to the prospect on LinkedIn, Vaam detects that your reply is the most recent message in the conversation. A review task appears, and the dialog shows:

“It looks like you took over this conversation; your reply is the most recent message. Should we end the sequence?”

The End sequence button is highlighted as the primary option because you are now managing the conversation directly. The remaining automated steps in the sequence are not needed. If you want to end the sequence and continue the conversation yourself, choose End sequence. The sequence stops, and no more automated messages will be sent to this prospect.

If you still want Vaam to send the next step in the sequence despite your reply, choose Continue sequence. This is useful if your message was brief (for example, a link or a file) and you want the sequence to keep progressing.

Exceptions

• If the prospect answers with a single emoji and nothing else, Vaam records the reply and the sequence continues. You do not get a task.
• If a reply task stays unreviewed for 10 business days, Vaam closes the sequence for that prospect automatically and marks it complete. The conversation on LinkedIn is not affected.
