Track engagement agent

Use a Track engagement agent to watch posts from LinkedIn profiles and company pages, then find the people who engage with them. One agent can follow several sources with one sequence and one audience.

Each profile or company you add is a source. One agent can track up to 10 sources at the same time. You can mix profiles and companies in the same agent, and add or remove sources after you create the agent.

  • Following a group of founders, salespeople, or industry experts whose posts attract the people you want to reach.
  • Watching your own company page together with partners, customers, or competitors.
  • Turning a list of accounts from a spreadsheet or a chat message into a single, ongoing source of warm prospects.
  • Keeping one sequence and one audience for a whole theme, instead of one agent per profile or company.

Track engagement or a single Company Post or Profile Posts agent?

Section titled “Track engagement or a single Company Post or Profile Posts agent?”

A Track engagement agent with one source works like a Company Post agent or a Profile Posts agent. Choose Track engagement when:

  • You want to follow more than one profile or company with the same sequence and audience.
  • You expect the list to change over time and want to add or remove sources without creating new agents.
  • You want to see, per source, when it was last checked and how many people it found.

Keep separate agents when the profiles or companies need different sequences or different audiences.

Existing Company Post and Profile Posts agents keep working as before.

Have these ready:

  • The LinkedIn URLs of the profiles and company pages you want to track, for example https://www.linkedin.com/in/some-person and https://www.linkedin.com/company/some-company.
  • An active, non-template sequence that is ready for new prospects.
  • Your standard audience, or a custom audience for this agent.

Make sure the profiles and company pages you choose publish public posts that attract relevant engagement.

  1. Go to Agents and click Create Agent.
  2. Select Track engagement and click Next.
  3. Enter an agent name and select the target sequence.
  4. Choose which connection degrees to include, or select All connections.
  5. Turn on Require approval if you want to review prospects before they enter the sequence.
  6. Under Sources, paste the LinkedIn profile and company URLs you want to track. Put one URL per line, or separate them with commas. Each URL becomes its own source.
  7. Check the list of sources under the text box. Vaam marks any line it cannot use, for example a URL that is not a LinkedIn profile or company page, or a duplicate. Fix or remove those lines. Click the x on a source to remove it before you continue.
  8. Click Next, then use your standard audience or customize it for this agent.
  9. Click Create Agent.

New agents start as active.

You can paste up to 10 sources. The counter under the list shows how many sources you have added.

The agent checks each source for new posts and finds the people who comment on them. It applies your connection-degree and audience choices, then either adds matching prospects to the sequence or holds them for approval.

Open the agent to see a Sources table. For each source, it shows the status, when it was last checked, when the next check is planned, and how many people were found and added. In the agents list, a Track engagement agent shows its type and the number of sources, for example Profile Posts · 3 sources or Mixed · 5 sources.

If you turned on Require approval, review prospects under Pending Approvals on the agent page. See About Vaam agents.

You can change the list of sources at any time without creating a new agent.

Add sources. Open the agent, choose Edit, and paste more URLs under Add sources. Then click Add sources. Vaam checks the new URLs the same way as when you created the agent. If a URL is already a source on this agent, Vaam marks the line and does not add anything until you remove that line. If you paste the URL of a removed source, Vaam restores that source with its history. The limit of 10 sources counts active and paused sources, not removed ones.

Pause or resume a source. In the Sources table, open the menu on a source and choose Pause. A paused source keeps its history but is not checked until you choose Resume. If no source is active, the agent does not run.

Remove a source. In the Sources table, open the menu on a source and choose Remove. The source is archived and no longer checked. Click Show archived to see removed sources, and choose Restore to bring one back with its history.

Sources with an error. If Vaam cannot check a source, the status shows error. Hold the pointer over the status to see the reason. Choose Resume to try again after you fix the cause, for example a changed URL.

  • Start with a small list and turn on Require approval. Add more sources when you see that the prospects are relevant.
  • Choose sources because of the audience they attract, not only because they have many followers.
  • Keep sources with different goals in different agents, so each agent can use the sequence and audience that fit.
  • Many sources on one agent means each source is checked less often. Vaam shows a warning on the Sources table when this happens. Pause or remove sources you do not need right now.
  • Refer to the shared topic in your sequence instead of implying that you know exactly which post a prospect saw.

You can edit the name, connection degrees, approval setting, audience settings, active or paused status, and the list of sources later. The agent type and target sequence are read-only. Create a new agent to change them.
