Salesforce integration

Vaam’s Salesforce integration reports video engagement into Salesforce. When someone opens, watches, or converts on a Vaam video, Vaam logs that as an activity on the matching Salesforce lead, so your team sees engagement without leaving the CRM.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations at app.vaam.io.
  2. Click Add integration.
  3. Choose Salesforce.
  4. Sign in to Salesforce and approve the access Vaam asks for.

The connection is team-scoped: one Salesforce org connects to one Vaam team, and everyone on the team uses that connection.

Vaam reports three events:

  • Open — the video link was opened.
  • View — the video was watched.
  • Conversion — the viewer completed the call to action on the video page.

Each one is written as a Salesforce Event record on a lead, with a link back to the video.

Vaam finds the lead by searching Salesforce for the viewer’s email address:

  • One matching lead — the event is written to that lead.
  • Several matching leads — the event is written to each of them. Vaam does not guess which duplicate is the right one.
  • No matching lead — Vaam creates one, so engagement from a person who is not yet in Salesforce still shows up. A lead created this way carries only what Vaam can derive from the email address: first name, last name, the email itself, and the email’s domain as the company name. Expect to enrich it yourself.

Writes happen as the engagement occurs. There is nothing to schedule and no manual sync button.

Be aware of the current limits before you plan around this integration:

  • Sequence steps are not written to Salesforce. LinkedIn invitations, LinkedIn messages, and sequence emails are not logged as Salesforce activity. If you need sequence activity in your CRM, use the HubSpot or Upsales integration instead.
  • Prospects are not synced both ways. Vaam does not import your Salesforce leads or contacts into Vaam. Add prospects to Vaam from LinkedIn or from a CSV — see Add prospects from LinkedIn.
  • There are no prospect-blocking rules. The owner and lifecycle-stage rules described on the HubSpot page are not available for Salesforce.

Open Settings → Integrations, find Salesforce, and remove it. Vaam stops writing to Salesforce right away. Nothing is removed from Salesforce.

Vaam removes the connection automatically when Salesforce rejects its access — for example after the Vaam app is revoked in Salesforce, or the connected user loses access. Reconnect from Settings → Integrations.

  • Confirm the integration is still connected under Settings → Integrations.
  • Confirm the viewer’s email address is known to Vaam. Vaam matches leads by email, so an anonymous viewer cannot be matched to a lead.
  • Confirm you are looking at a video event. Sequence steps are not written to Salesforce.
