Email sending paused
Check the Email sending paused notice before you resume sending. It explains why Vaam stops all email sending from your mailbox. Only the mailbox owner can resume sending.
Read the sending notice
Section titled “Read the sending notice”The notice appears in the sidebar and in Settings > Email accounts. Your account also shows Sending paused in email settings. The notice shows the mailbox address, the reason, and the pause date. It includes bounce or provider codes when available. For repeated bounces, it shows bounce and sent counts. It does not show the text of the bounce message.
| Reason | What to check before you resume |
|---|---|
| Microsoft or Google stops your mailbox from sending | Ask your email admin to check the restriction and confirm that your mailbox can send again. |
| Your provider refuses a send because the mailbox is restricted | Check with your email admin before resuming. |
| Too many recent emails bounce | Fix or remove the addresses that bounced. Check the counts in the notice. |
| Vaam cannot read a bounce message for 24 hours | Check the bounce in your mailbox. Resolve any mailbox restriction or incorrect address before resuming. |
A mailbox restriction does not prove that a prospect’s address is incorrect. The pause does not clear automatically. Reconnecting or disconnecting the email account does not remove it.
Resume mailbox sending
Section titled “Resume mailbox sending”- Resolve the problem shown in the notice.
- Sign in as the owner of the mailbox.
- Open your email settings.
- Select Resume sending.
- Read the warning and confirm Resume sending.
Paused email steps continue on their normal schedule. Completed email steps do not send again. Prospects with separate review tasks still need review. Microsoft can restrict your mailbox again if the problem continues. Resume only after you check the cause.
If Vaam cannot resume sending, try again. If the problem continues, contact support.
Verification before the first email
Section titled “Verification before the first email”Before the first email to an address in a prospect’s sequence, Vaam requires a successful address check no more than 14 days old. If no check exists or the check is older, Vaam delays the send and requests verification. An earlier email with no saved recipient address does not establish that Vaam already sent to the current address.
Changing the prospect’s address requires a check for the new address. Changing only spaces or letter case keeps the same address history. Before the first email, a later failed check prevents sending even when an earlier check succeeds. A check that cannot confirm the address, for example because the recipient’s server accepts all addresses, stops only the first email.
Later emails to an address that already got an email in the sequence do not need a new check. They stop only when the address is known to be bad:
- An email to this prospect at the address bounced, and you did not confirm the address.
- An email from your team to the address bounced, so Vaam blocks the address for the whole team.
- A check shows that the address does not exist or is a temporary address.
Vaam checks the primary email address during enrichment, including in LinkedIn-only sequences. This does not send an email. An address ready for enrichment can still need a newer check before email sending.
Resolve an email verification review
Section titled “Resolve an email verification review”A verification review concerns one prospect. Use Review to read the notice and choose an action. Vaam waits 10 minutes before trying a pending send again. After six unsuccessful attempts, it asks for review. An address that fails a check can require review immediately.
| Review title | Meaning and action |
|---|---|
| Email verification did not finish | The check did not finish in time. Select Try the current step again, or add a different address. |
| Email verification not available | Vaam could not use email verification. Select Try the current step again when it is available, or add a different address. |
| Confirm this email address | Vaam does not know whether the last check finished. Vaam does not start another paid check for this address. Add a confirmed address to continue. |
| Email address not confirmed | Vaam cannot confirm the address. This can happen when the recipient’s server accepts all addresses. This review stops only the first email to the address. Add a different address or remove the prospect. |
| Email address does not exist | Verification reports that the address does not exist. Add a different address. |
| Temporary email address | The address is a temporary, disposable address. Add a different address. |
| Address bounced before | Vaam prevents another send because an earlier email to the address bounced. Add a different address. For a recent bounce, you can also confirm the same address after checking it. For an older bounce, the review says that you cannot confirm the address again, and only a different address works. |
To retry, select Try the current step again and then Confirm. Vaam checks the sending requirements again before sending. Retry does not authorize another paid check when Vaam does not know whether the earlier check finished. Adding the same address again also does not remove that limit.
To change the address, enter it and select Use updated info. Then select Confirm. For a recent bounce, you can use the same address with the same-address confirmation steps. For an older bounce, enter a different address.
