Tracked Links
Tracked links are a powerful feature that lets you monitor when prospects click on links in your email and LinkedIn sequences. This engagement data can help you understand prospect interest and automatically trigger different follow-up actions based on their behavior.
What are Tracked Links?
Section titled “What are Tracked Links?”Tracked links are special links that you can include in your sequences to monitor prospect engagement. When you add a tracked link to an email or LinkedIn message, Vaam automatically tracks when someone clicks on it. This information can then be used to:
- Measure engagement: See which prospects are actively engaging with your content
- Trigger conditional actions: Automatically send different follow-up messages based on whether someone clicked your link
- Improve your sequences: Use click data to understand what content resonates with your prospects
How Tracked Links Work
Section titled “How Tracked Links Work”When you create a tracked link in Vaam, it gets converted into a special tracking URL (like https://vaam.link/your-link-name
). When a prospect clicks this link:
- Vaam records the click along with timing information
- The prospect is automatically redirected to your intended destination
- The click data becomes available for use in conditional sequence logic
- You can view engagement analytics in your settings
This all happens seamlessly - your prospects simply see a normal link and clicking experience.
Adding Links to Your Sequences
Section titled “Adding Links to Your Sequences”In the Message Editor
Section titled “In the Message Editor”When creating email or LinkedIn sequence steps, you can add tracked links directly in the message editor:
- Write your message in the email or LinkedIn message field
- Click the link button (🔗) in the editor toolbar
- Choose an existing link from your saved links, or select “Create new link”
- If creating a new link:
- Enter a short, memorable name (slug) for your link
- Enter the destination URL where prospects should be taken
- Optionally add custom link text for rich text emails
- Click “Add link” to insert it into your message
The link will be automatically embedded in your message and ready to track engagement.
Creating Links from Scratch
Section titled “Creating Links from Scratch”You can also create and manage links independently of your sequences:
- Go to Settings → Outreach → Tracked Links
- Click “Create link”
- Enter your link details:
- Slug: A short, memorable identifier (like “demo-video” or “pricing-page”)
- URL: The full destination URL where prospects should be taken
- Click “Add link” to save
Once created, these links will be available to use in any sequence.
Managing Your Tracked Links
Section titled “Managing Your Tracked Links”Viewing All Links
Section titled “Viewing All Links”To see all your tracked links and their performance:
- Navigate to Settings → Outreach → Tracked Links
- Review your links table which shows:
- Slug: Your link identifier

- Status: Whether the link is Active or Archived
- Clicks: Total number of times the link has been clicked
Archiving Links
Section titled “Archiving Links”You can archive links that you no longer want to use in new sequences. Important: Links can only be archived from the Settings page, not from the sequence editor.
To archive a link:
- Go to Settings → Outreach → Tracked Links
- Find the link you want to archive
- Click the Archive button next to the link
- The link status will change to “Archived”
Archived links:
- Won’t appear in the link selection dropdown when creating new sequences
- Will continue to work for existing sequences that already use them
- Can be unarchived later if needed
Using Link Clicks for Conditional Logic
Section titled “Using Link Clicks for Conditional Logic”One of the most powerful features of tracked links is the ability to create conditional sequences based on whether prospects click your links.
Setting Up Link-Based Conditionals
Section titled “Setting Up Link-Based Conditionals”- Add a tracked link to an email or LinkedIn message step
- Add a conditional step after the step containing your link
- Set the condition type to “Link Clicked”
- Configure the paths:
- If clicked: What should happen if the prospect clicks your link
- If not clicked: What should happen if they don’t click
