Keeping Your LinkedIn Account Safe

Vaam is designed to automate your LinkedIn outreach while keeping your account safe. However, how you ramp up your activity matters. LinkedIn monitors for sudden changes in behavior, so a gradual approach is key — especially when you’re just getting started.

If you’re new to Vaam and haven’t been very active on LinkedIn recently, we strongly recommend starting with the Safe tempo.

Why? LinkedIn pays close attention to sudden spikes in activity. If your account has been relatively quiet and you suddenly start sending dozens of connection requests and messages per day, LinkedIn’s systems may flag your account for suspicious behavior.

The Safe tempo keeps your daily activity well within conservative limits, giving LinkedIn time to adjust to your increased engagement. Once you’ve been running smoothly in Safe mode for a couple of weeks, you can gradually move up to Standard.

  1. Go to Settings in your Vaam dashboard
  2. Open LinkedIn Settings
  3. Under Tempo, select Safe

If LinkedIn sends you a warning about automated activity, take it seriously. Here’s what to do:

  1. Throttle your activity immediately — set your tempo back to Safe
  2. Review your schedule — make sure your active hours look natural and align with your actual working hours
  3. Stay in Safe mode for at least two weeks before considering scaling back up

A warning is LinkedIn telling you they’ve noticed unusual patterns. By dialing back, you signal that the spike was temporary and your account returns to normal behavior.

A temporary ban is more serious than a warning. If LinkedIn temporarily restricts your account, follow this recovery plan:

  1. Pause all automations immediately — stop all LinkedIn sequences and activity in Vaam
  2. Wait five business days — do not run any automated activity during this period
  3. Resume in Safe mode — after the waiting period, restart your automations using the Safe tempo
  4. Stay in Safe mode for two weeks — this gives LinkedIn confidence that your activity patterns are normal
  5. Scale up gradually — after two weeks in Safe mode, you can begin moving toward Standard tempo

Rushing back to high-volume activity after a ban significantly increases the risk of a longer or permanent restriction. Patience here protects your account long-term.

  • Ramp up gradually — even if you have LinkedIn Premium and access to higher tempos, increase your activity over weeks, not days
  • Keep your schedule realistic — set active hours that match when you’d actually be on LinkedIn
  • Monitor your account — if you notice anything unusual (CAPTCHAs, connection request limits), consider scaling back temporarily
